“It was a selfish, self-centered and mean crime that ignored the personality of the victims.”

-Judge Yasuhide Narazaki

Although being 18 years old in most countries is considered an adult, in Japan, the legal age is 20. Japan has a coming of age ceremony for 20-year-olds and many things such as legal drinking, the right to get married, buying tobacco, etc. are restricted to those over 20 years old.

In terms of crime, those between 14 and 19 are subject to criminal responsibility as a minor. Criminals aged 20 or older are tried as adults. This means that at age 18, Takayuki Fukuda, who entered a home and attacked a woman, violently killed her baby, killed her, then sexually violated her corpse, could be free within 8 years.

Who was Takayuki Fukuda? Why did he target this woman and her baby? How did he kill them? How did he get caught and where is he now? This is the tragic and cruel story of the minor who killed a baby and her mother, then sexually assaulted her corpse.
